| March 6th, 2006 (New York, NY) The Themantics Group, Producing Artistic Director Jay Aubrey, is proud to present the World premiere of the new comedy based on the ancient mythological story, Cupid and Psyche by Joseph Fisher. Previews begin at Altered Stages (212 W. 29th Street) on April 7th, press opening April 10th and closing April 30th. Performances run Thurs – Sat at 8 PM and Sun at 3 PM, Monday at 8 PM, with Saturday matinees on April 22nd & 29th at 2 PM. | Cupid and Psyche is a contemporary comedy adapted from the ancient mythological story. When the goddess Aphrodite has her mojo stolen by the most beautiful woman in the world, Psyche, she begins to age, and decides to, er, eliminate the problem. She calls on her son, Cupid, to destroy the princess but he hits a snag when he does what he has never done before – falls in love with Psyche himself. What ensues is a zany and exciting game of love and sacrifice worthy of the gods.

| Director Alex Lippard recently directed Sake with a Haiku Geisha. He also helmed Moonchild by Maureeen Fitzgerald with Heather Tom where he won the 2004 Fringe Award for Excellence in Directing, in addition to Hecuba starring Kristine Linklater at 45 Bleecker and Frankie at the Irish Arts Center.
